Trevor Smith, a senior here at BCS, had the opportunity to intern with Sweet Cars under the mentorship of Mike Cardenas. On Wednesday, May 22, we had our last chapel of this school year, and for those of us that are seniors, it was our last chapel ever as a student at Blackhawk. At the beginning of the year, the chapel class showed a video of a builder working tirelessly on a house. Wednesday, the end of that video was shown and the meaning became clear that the builder, God, is still working on his house, His Kingdom, and will never stop until all His children have come home. It was at the International Thespian Society Induction Ceremony that Mr. Luedeke made an exciting announcement regarding his selection of next year’s theme, play, and musical, for Blackhawk’s theatre department. The theme, “Classic with a Twist,” will be carried out through the performances of Nicholas Nickleby and The Wiz. Continue reading
This past Wednesday was our Senior Chapel. Ten seniors led us in worship and, for most of them, it was their first time ever helping with chapel. After worship, Hannah Harris and Ryan Shuherk read a creative rendition of James 2:14-26, which talks about faith and works, and was a great introduction to Mr. McKown’s message. Continue reading
ARTSplosion 2013 will be taking place on Monday, May 20th at 6:30 p.m., on our North Campus. The evening will include performances from the middle school and high school band, followed by the middle school and high school choir, with our Noteworthy Choir closing out the evening. Along with those performances, the middle school and high school artwork, featuring 2D and 3D art, will be on display throughout the foyer. Join us for a wonderful evening celebrating the arts at Blackhawk!
