Follow Me…

Chapel held on Wednesday, August 20

Last Wednesday was the first chapel of the year, given by Principle Harmon. He said, ”If God doesn’t show up in our chapels then it’s meaningless.” God was definitely there. This year’s theme is “Follow me.” The chapel class showed us a video of a little boy, trying to imitate his dad. The little boy tried very hard to look, and act like his dad in all he did. We should strive to act like this in regards to our Heavenly Father. We should want to look like Him, act like Him, and follow Him.

In Mark 8:34-35 Jesus says, “Pick up your cross and follow me.” We are to give ourselves completely and in full surrender of our precious lives to our LORD, Jesus Christ. Why would we do this? Jesus came so we may have life, and life abundant. We may not understand why we are going through something, or for what “bigger plan” we are in, but Jesus knows what’s best for us, and his plan is better. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us how God wants to provide us with a hope and a future, Proverbs 3:5-6 says HE will make our paths straight, John 8:12 says how Jesus is the light of life, our guidance, Matthew 11 says HE will give us peace, and Isaiah 40:29 says HE will give strength to the weary.

No matter what we are facing, we will have victory! Our LORD and Saviour has overcome death, and HE can without a doubt help us overcome what we are dealing with. Remember nothing can separate us from the love of God, HE will do whatever HE can to help us. Also remember, the beauty of faith is you can give all your stress and burdens to the LORD, even the small things.
