What does the Holy Spirit do?

Mrs. Carman began by asking the following questions.
  • “Do you know who you are?”
  • “Do you have a spirit living in you?”
  • “Do you want to know what the Spirit of God does for you?”
She introduced us to two verses, 1 Corinthians 6:19 and Romans 8:9. Why is it so important to have an understanding of the Holy Spirit? First, the Holy Spirit is in the child of God and believers infilled with the Holy Spirit allow them to live the Christian life.

What does the Spirit do in you?

Mrs. Carman gave off a list of the top ten things the Spirit has done for us.

#3 Convicts you of sin
“But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: about sin, because people do not believe in me; about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.” – John 16: 7-11
#2 Transforms you
“We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away.” – 2 Corinthians 3:13

And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation.
