On Tuesday the 12th, the entire BCS Junior/Senior High School went Leaf Raking to serve the surrounding community. There were 26 groups that went to rake in Blackhawk forest, The Knolls and Lake Forest. Our day started off with chapel schedule, but after lunch is when the true fun began. We all gathered our coats, scarves, gloves, and hats, handed out all of our rakes, and headed out to our assigned neighborhoods. It was a very chilly afternoon, but we persevered through the wet, snowy ground. We found that it was a lot harder to rake the leaves because there was ice and snow mixed in as well. Even though it was difficult to rake, students found it a privilege to help others, especially the elderly who wouldn’t be able to do it on their own.
Overall, it was an amazing experience, no matter how miserable and cold it got. Good job guys! Let us serve the community and show people what it means to be a part of Blackhawk Christian School!Matthew 20:28 “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
