Fort Wayne Sister Cities International Inc. has given an opportunity for students from Blackhawk Christian School to go to Japan for three weeks during this next summer. They would like current Sophomores and Juniors to apply, but current freshman can, too. The dates for this exchange program are June 12, 2015 through June 28, 2015. Applicants don’t have to speak Japanese.
During this trip, students will be staying with a host family in Takaoka, Japan. Students will spend two days in Tokyo, traveling there by a bullet train. The exchange program will also include participation in the host high school classes and school sporting events. There will be field trip events around Takaoka plus an adult chaperone from Allen County will be joining the exchange program.
On the trip to Tokyo, travel expenses, hotel room, breakfast fees, tour fees, and meals (3 dinners 2 lunches) will cost $340.00 per student. Parkview Health and Fort Wayne Sister Cities’ Chapman will cover the rest of the expenses. Students will also have to bring extra money for snacks and souvenirs. A current passport is required also.
Finally, to apply for this once-in-a-life-time opportunity, applications are available online at the Fort Wayne Cities International Website.
Applications are due by: Friday, January 23, 2015.
Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this amazing experience!
