“I spread out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah”When I think of spreading out my hands, the first thing that comes to mind is “surrender”. I believe David has reached a point in his life (probably one of many) where he realized he needed to stop and surrender to whatever God was doing in his life. Most of the time, the trials and difficulties God allows to come our way are methods by which He purges us of sin and negative qualities. It’s like pruning a tree or a bush; cutting off the useless branches so that the good branches bearing fruit can receive more nutrient, and flourish.
How often do we find ourselves in such a situation where instead of fighting, we need to surrender and look for the good God is working in all things, all circumstances, all difficulties, in the lives of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose? (Romans 8:28)
Does your soul thirst for God as David’s? Like a parched land thirsts for water? As a deer that pants for water?
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” -Jeremiah 29:13
Are you seeking God with all your heart and soul?
