Blackhawk Christian Theatre will present the play John, His Story on September 30th and October 1st at 7:00 pm in the North Campus Gymnasium (7400 East State Boulevard, Fort Wayne).
John, His Story was written by Jeanette Clift George, perhaps best remembered for her role as Corrie ten Boom opposite Julie Harris in the 1975 film classic, The Hiding Place. John, His Story was written for the A.D. Players of Houston, Texas and debuted off-Broadway at the Lamb’s Theatre in New York City in 1997.
The 90-minute, no intermission play brings to life the Gospel of John, emphasizing the seven miracles of Jesus as recorded in that book, and the public reactions to those miracles and the ministry of Christ on earth. The Blackhawk Christian Theatre production will set the piece “in the round” with the audience seated on all four sides of the playing area.
The role of John will be played by senior, Jake Smith. Junior, Derek Klinker will play the role of Jesus. A cast of twenty students and five crew members round out the production.
Richard Luedeke helms the production as director, supported by Tim Marker (technical director), Candis Allwein (costume design), Joel Guthrie and Jessie Smith (arena design and art) and Kelly Fink (prop design).
Tickets are available at the door one hour prior to each performance for $7.00 (adults) and $5.00 (students). Call 260-493-7400 for more information.
